Mountain Zebra

A long band running from SW Angola to the mountains of the Cape and Karoo.
•Habitat:
It prefers the bush and steppes area.

Female 230-320 kg

•Behaviour:
It lives in small closed groups.
•Food:
Herbivorous.
•Reproduction:
A single calf , rarely 2 after a gestation period of 11 to 12 months.

Burchell's Zebra
•Distribution:
East area of Africa. From south of Kenya to South Africa.
•Habitat:
Wide plans rich in grass, thin forests and mountains till 4.500 m.
•Size:
Male: 215 to 340 kg. Female: 170 to 300 kg. Shoulder height:
Male 120 to 140. Female 105 to 125.
•Behaviour:
Diurnal. It lives in herds. It is easy to see it wallowing in the sand
to take away the parasites. Its enemies are: lions, hyenas, leopards and
cheetah.
•Food:
Grass. It needs a lot of water.
•Reproduction:
A single calf after 12 months of gestation.
•Longevity:
From 20 to 40 years.
